I feel like my whole journey has been a roller coaster of ups and downs, but what journey isn’t.
I had an amazing chat with the trainer at the gym and she has totally helped me see things more clearly. Talking things out really helped. I know I’m not alone in my struggles and now I’m figuring out how to address them to move past them.
I’ve had a bad infection this week, which is prohibiting me from exercising, so I’ve been focusing on my food. I’m tracking my WW+ points, but I’m also tracking my food on my MyFitnessPal account so that anyone can follow along and see what I’m eating, good or bad.
My tracking week starts on Mondays and tonight I was texting with the trainer, because she is more like a friend now, and she was looking over my MFP account. It helps having input on what I’m doing well and where I need to improve.
Reviewing the week I’m seeing that I’ve made improvements in eating more food during the day and not just saving all my calories/points for dinner and the evening. My breakfasts are pretty consistent.
Daily for breakfast I’ve been having a scoop of AboutTime chocolate protein powder mixed with 8oz of almond milk as I run out the door. When I get to my office I’ve been having a low-fat string cheese. That brings me to 240 calories or 5 ww+ points. I still should add more food to my breakfast. What are you eating for your breakfast? Any suggestions of a healthy 100-200 calorie item to add?
I’m a creature of habit (some very bad habits until now) so I can eat the same thing over and over. To keep it simple in a busy day I’ve been packing a salad with grilled chicken with some light italian dressing. Then I’ve been enjoying fruit along with it and often another low-fat string cheese. That brings me to about 288 calories or another 5 ww+ points.
My snack at work has been a strawberry greek yogurt with almonds. It is a pretty good snack and filling. The almonds really help add to it and keep me full longer.
My dinners vary and I’m working on trying more recipes.
The main problems I’m seeing is that my breakfasts and lunches need to have more added to them. I need to eat more of the right things. Then my dinners I need to cut out the bad carbs.
It is a work in progress, but it is progress!
