28? Can I possibly be 28 already?

Well, another year has passed and today I am 28.

10389510_811675035115_4633786012560444145_nWhy does 28 sound so much older? It is crazy that this week also marks 10 years since my high school graduation and tomorrow 2 years since I graduated Law School. Geez, time flies.

I looked at what I wrote about my birthday last year and I was looking forward to making 27 be the year. Well, 27 was a good year. I learned a lot about myself, gained a lot more responsibility at work, gained much more confidence at the gym, recommitted to my health journey, gave new workouts a try, returned to swimming, and so much more.

I’m far from perfect and I’ve never held myself out to be, but I really want my cycles of sabotage to end. I finally feel like I discovered what I need to do. Now I just need to do it. So, this year for my birthday I’m not skipping the class at the gym tonight. Instead I’m going to go and ring in this new year in a healthy way.

June will be a good month. I’m thinking positively.

For 28 years now I’ve lived almost trapped inside this body and now it is time to change that. Move more towards loving myself for who I am and continuing to make myself healthier so that I can celebrate many, many more birthdays.

So, here are my June health related goals:

  • Get back into a regular swimming routine 3x/week
  • Start a new round of T25
  • Track all food daily
  • Try some new recipes
  • Give Couch25k a more consistent try

Oh, and another goal – to blog more regularly! Blogging holds me accountable and I could really use that right now!

  5. I’m going to start the Couch 2 5K program tonight! I’ve started and stopped it several times. Finished it all the way through, but then found out I was pregnant so I stopped running completely (I know I didn’t have to, but that’s how I am). We can do this!

    • Yeah I just haven’t been able to get into running but I signed up for a 5k with some friends for August so now I have a date set and something to work for! You are right, we can do this!
